UNL Women's & Gender Studies Travel Award Recipient

I am happy to share that I was recently selected as a recipient of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Women's and Gender Studies Graduate Student Travel Award. These travel funds are based upon an application process and then reviewed and awarded by the Women's and Gender Studies Advisory Board. Up to three students can receive the award in the fall and up to two students are eligible each spring. This award assists UNL graduate students who are pursuing the Women's and Gender Studies Graduate Specialization or Graduate Minor to present their research and work at professional conferences.

UNL's Women's and Gender Studies program is an interdisciplinary program offer majors, minors, and specializations to both undergraduate and graduate students. Each year the organization hosts a themed Colloquium Series and supports student groups, organizations, and events across campus. Every third year, the Women's and Gender Studies Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln hosts the No Limits Conference, rotating years with the WGS program at the University of Nebraska-Omaha and the WGS program at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.

I will use the award to assist travel for my upcoming presentation at the University of South Dakota's 2015 Biennial Gender and Work Conference: Exploring Intersectionality, Resistance and Identity. I would sincerely like to thank the Women's & Gender Studies Advisory Board, the Director, Dr. Chantal Kalisa, the Associate Director, Dr. Rose Holz, and the Administrative Support Associate, Paige Glasshoff, for their continued support.
